As many of you know, I do suffer from WCSS. So, of course I did have visions of our entire crop of sweet corn being infested with the corn smut which would get out of control and destroy our entire garden mutating into lettuce smut, bean smut, tomato smut, and so on. After the mutation took over it spread to the neighbor’s garden and lawsuits were filed…etc.
However, things aren’t always as bad as they seem (to me anyway). Anthony and I went out after the rain with the little red wagon and picked some 30 ears of Silver Queen and not one had the smut. Things are looking good! Heck I might even hope to get another 30 or 60 ears out of that garden, if the storms don’t knock the corn down and the coon and deer don’t eat it or….
We boiled these ears in water with Zatarain’s Lemon Liquid Shrimp and Crab Boil, the same thing we used for the shrimp, and they were awesome. I strongly advise you to give it a try. BAM!
