It was a busy day at the Hahn ranch today. Since the heat index was scheduled to be around 110 degrees we decided to get some work done early. Nicole took the boys next door to my parent’s house to pick green beans. The picked about five gallons of beans and it translated to about 3 gallons of beans which we later froze. I stayed home and picked corn. My fears of the dreaded corn smut were unfounded. I picked another 4 dozen ears and we froze all of that as well. It looks as though we’ll probably get another 6 to 8 dozen before all is said and done. While I was pulling the corn and throwing it in the wagon I took some time to watch the bees working in the corn tassells. Bees amaze me and I would love to start keeping them. If there are any bee keepers reading I’d love to hear from you. Anyway, here are some pictures I took of these awesome little creatures. Enjoy.

We have hundreds of sunflowers planted beside our house and by the garden. This picture was taken beside the house. I hope to post more pictures when the rest begin opening up.
