The garden is nearing the end. Here is a picture of the jalapeno peppers I picked, about peck of those jalapeno peppers.
Here is a shot of the homestead taken in July. Below it is a picture taken a couple days ago. The goldenrod is out in full force.
Speaking of goldenrod, the bees are out in full force gathering this last burst of summer to jam into their hives. As you walk on the path from the house to the mailbox the humming sound of these busy workers is amazing. Unfortunately, much of the goldenrod falls onto the path because of the weight of the flowers and no other support to help the plants. Therefore, those unthinking souls who venture to get the mail in sandals through the gauntlet of buzzing goldenrod are bound to get stung. As did I. Ouch.
#2 had a birthday a week ago. Hard to believe 5 years can pass so fast. Of course the cheap sword and pirate hat bought by # 3 at the dollar store for, well, a dollar, beat out all other gifts. In the second picture I think he either had too much cake or is trying out for the next Pirates movie. Arrrrghh……….
