Okay, well, it’s not extreme, just some old fashioned, southeastern Ohio chicken coop remodeling. We have about 40 chicks coming on Friday so I thought I should build some sort of brooder to raise them. I didn’t want them in the basement again because of the dust. I decided to section off part of our coop and put them in there. So, here are some pictures of the transition and transformation. Of course I’ll be posting pictures of the chicks by the end of the week.

Here we see the nesting boxes (with a fresh egg on the left) and roosts.

The remodeling crew putting the finishing touches on the “wall” in the basement of the house.

I moved the nesting boxes to the right (bottom right) and removed half of the roosts since we only have nine chickens now.

The “wall”. Lattice at the top with poultry wire at the bottom. The space on the right is for the door that is in production.
