| Sunrise on Sunday morning! |
| Some of us take a different path in life…I took the creek path while the others took the Butterfly Trail |
| Milkweed Tussock (Tiger) Moth Caterpillars munching on some Milkweed. Did you know that the adult moths use an ultrasonic signal easily detected by bats warning the predator that they’ll taste pretty nasty if caught? |
| Speaking of bats…I found this poor creature stuck to the burrs of a large Burdock plant in my mother’s yard. I didn’t have the knowledge or guts to free it. I cut down the plant and placed it in the shade. I’m hoping the best for the bat. |
| These “Surprise Lilly’s” popped up around mom’s house in the short 10 or so days between mowing. |
Growing about 2-3 feet in 10-12 days. I’d love to set up a camera to catch them.
| I found a patch of Wild Bergamot that was teaming with Hummingbird Moths. Those nasty tomato horn worms we find each year become these beautiful and incredibly agile moths. |
